Bayern Munich will not be pursuing a deal for Kai Havertz in the summer transfer window. According to a German journalist, the Bundesliga club have no interest in signing the Arsenal player.
Havertz’s Arsenal Career So Far
Kai Havertz has been an Arsenal player since 2023, joining from Chelsea. He is currently under contract with the North London club until 2028. The 26-year-old has played 107 matches for the Gunners, scoring 34 goals and providing 17 assists.
Despite being an important player for manager Mikel Arteta, Havertz has not had a huge impact this season. Knee and muscle injuries have affected his form. In the 2025/26 campaign, Havertz has made 20 appearances, scoring five goals and assisting four times.
Speculation and Potential Transfer
There has been speculation regarding Havertz’s future. Arsenal are reportedly pursuing a deal for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez. Earlier this month, it was reported that Arsenal had internally discussed a possible contract extension for Havertz, dependent on his performance this season. However, these discussions have been put on hold.
Gyokeres’ performances and Havertz’s injury record have raised questions. These factors have lowered the possibility of a club paying his true value.
Bayern Munich’s Reported Interest and Denial
Earlier reports suggested Bayern Munich were interested in signing Havertz. It was suggested he could be a depth option. Nicolas Jackson is set to return to Chelsea after his loan spell at Bayern.
However, Bild journalist Christian Falk has refuted these claims. He stated that Bayern have no interest in Havertz for the 2026 summer transfer window. Falk wrote that there have been no talks or negotiations regarding Havertz.
Falk added on his website, CFBayernInsider; “It is NOT TRUE: Bayern have added Kai Havertz to their shortlist ahead of the summer.”
- No talks have taken place.
- No negotiations have taken place.
- Havertz is already thinking about next season with Arsenal.
Falk also stated that while Havertz might like to play for Bayern Munich in the future, his name has not been discussed by the Bayern Munich supervisory board and is not currently on their summer shortlist.
