WrestleMania 42 is nearly upon us, with a 13-match card including eight title matches. The event will span two nights at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Night One and Two Main Events
Night 1 will be headlined by Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes defending his title against Randy Orton. On Night 2, World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk will face Roman Reigns.
Rollins vs. Gunther: A Potential Show-Stealer
Seth Rollins versus Gunther is a match to watch. It could be a show-stealing performance reminiscent of Kurt Angle versus Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 21 in 2005. The match has been subtly placed on the card without the hype of the two main events.
Rollins and Gunther are considered two of the best in-ring performers in WWE. Rollins is establishing himself as this generation’s “Mr. WrestleMania.” Gunther already has had a handful of excellent matches between WWE and NXT and operates as the purest form of a heel.
Rhodes vs. Orton: A Curious Buildup
Cody Rhodes versus Randy Orton is another match drawing attention. The buildup has been described as dreadful, creating curiosity about how things will tie together with Rhodes, Orton, Pat McAfee, Jelly Roll, and others. Doubts have been raised about whether the storyline can be improved or even made to make sense.
Rhodes and Orton have a rich shared history. It has been suggested that pulling from that history could have developed an A-plus WrestleMania story. Rhodes himself has compared the progrum to the Gobbledy Gooker and Shockmaster.
Vaquer vs. Morgan: An Intense Feud
Stephanie Vaquer versus Liv Morgan is a feud that has lived up to its billing. It is considered one of the more intense stories on the card. It began with a blistering, emotionally charged taked.
After weeks of storylines and anticipation, WrestleMania 42 is almost here.
