Seahawks Consider Draft Trade for Notre Dame’s Jadarian Price

The Seattle Seahawks are exploring potential trades in the upcoming NFL Draft, aiming to increase their number of selections.

According to NFL Draft analyst Rob Rang, the Seahawks might trade out of the first round entirely. They may even swap one of next year’s selections.

Potential Draft Target: Jadarian Price

Rang’s mock draft suggests the Seahawks could target Jadarian Price, a running back from Notre Dame, with the No. 34 overall pick.

Price’s opportunities at Notre Dame were limited due to Jeremiyah Love, but Rang believes Price possesses the vision, burst, balance, and soft hands to become a front-line NFL starter.

Possible Trade with Arizona Cardinals

John Schneider spoke about the possibility of trading with divisional rivals. This includes teams seeking quarterbacks.

Rang suggests a trade with the Arizona Cardinals, who might want to move up to select Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson. The Cardinals could jump two spots from No. 34 to No. 32.

Arizona may seek to acquire Simpson for a fifth year. They would also leapfrog the New York Jets, another team looking for a young quarterback.

The Seahawks could expect Arizona’s fifth-round pick – No. 143 overall – in return and still select Price.

Seahawks’ Draft Strategy

Rang believes trading down with their first pick makes sense for the Seahawks. It yields the greatest return.

Interest will be high in that final pick of the first round. It comes with the team-friendly option of a fifth year on a rookie contract.

The league mandates that all players selected in the second to seventh rounds can only receive a four-year deal.

The Seahawks currently have a league-low four selections.

The Seahawks might also be considering Derrick Moore, Edge, Michigan with the No. 64 overall pick.

The Seahawks are clearly looking to acquire more draft selections.
