Panthers Defeat Rangers 3-2 in Quick’s Retirement Game

Cole Reinhardt scored with 1:50 remaining as the Florida Panthers defeated the Rangers 3-2. The match was New York goaltender Jonathan Quick’s final NHL game.

Quick, a three-time Stanley Cup champion, had announced his retirement before the game. He played for 19 seasons, winning the Cup twice with the Los Angeles Kings and once with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2023.

Reinhardt’s Decisive Goal

Reinhardt’s goal broke a 2-all tie. It was scored on Florida’s fourth shot of the third period, beating Quick on the glove side.

The Rangers never led and have now lost three straight games.

Florida took an early 2-0 lead with goals from Reinhardt and Mackie Samoskevich in the first period.

Daniil Tarasov, Florida’s goalie, made 24 saves. He stopped all 14 shots he faced in the third period as the Rangers pushed for a final victory for Quick.
