The Oklahoma City Thunder will be without Jalen Williams and Ajay Mitchell for Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals against the San Antonio Spurs.
Both players are sidelined due to injuries that have affected them throughout the series. The game is scheduled for Saturday night.
Williams’ Hamstring Troubles Continue
Jalen Williams is missing his third game of the series due to a strained left hamstring. He averaged 17.1 points per game in his fourth season with the Thunder.
Williams has been dealing with this hamstring issue for much of the playoffs. He missed 49 of Oklahoma City’s 82 regular-season games with wrist and hamstring issues.
Saturday will be the 10th playoff game he’s missed this year because of new hamstring problems. He played about 10 minutes in Thursday’s Game 6 loss to the Spurs.
Williams exited Game 2 with hamstring tightness after straining it earlier in these playoffs. He returned in Game 5 and posted three points and four rebounds in 16 minutes of action, coming off the bench for the first time since 2022.
Mitchell Also Ruled Out
Ajay Mitchell will also be unavailable for the Thunder. Mitchell has a strained right soleus.
Mitchell had been the starter that replaces Williams in the lineup, until he too got hurt.
Oklahoma City has been starting Jared McCain in that spot since, alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Isaiah Hartenstein, Lu Dort and Chet Holmgren.
Spurs Report Clean Bill of Health
The San Antonio Spurs reported no injuries going into Game 7.
Oklahoma City will have to overcome these injury setbacks as they face the Spurs.
