Ronnie O’Sullivan and Joe Perry are set to compete in the final of the 2026 JenningsBet World Seniors Snooker Championship at the Crucible Theatre on Sunday.
The final will see a renewal of a long-standing rivalry between the two players, both from ‘The Class of 92’. Their first professional meeting was at the same venue during the 1999 World Championship.
The best-of-19 frame contest will determine the champion. The opening session, consisting of eight frames, will begin at 12:30 BST, followed by the conclusion of the match from 7pm BST.
O’Sullivan’s Semi-Final Victory
A sellout crowd watched O’Sullivan’s semi-final match against Rob Milkins on Saturday afternoon.
Despite winning the first frame with a half-century, O’Sullivan’s performance was unconvincing. He remained level with Milkins at both intervals, at 2-2 and 4-4.
A potential shock was on the cards when Milkins took frame nine, moving him two frames away from victory. However, a quick-fire 75 restored parity, and O’Sullivan won the next two frames to secure a 7-5 victory.
Perry Overcomes Steadman to Reach Final
Joe Perry secured his place in the final by defeating Craig Steadman with a score of 7-5.
Steadman, who is set to return to the professional ranks from the start of next season, made a strong start, taking a 3-0 lead without making a break over 30.
Perry, the reigning British Seniors Snooker Open champion, then rallied to win five consecutive frames, taking a two-frame lead into the second interval.
Steadman, the European Seniors champion, reduced the deficit to one at both 5-4 and 6-5. A break of 102 from Perry in frame 12 then sealed his passage into the final.
