Kansas City is getting ready to welcome the World Cup and hundreds of thousands of football fans from around the world.
Every corner of the metro wants a piece of the action, so it’s not hard to find an area that’s offering up good times for free.
Sporting Park’s ‘Soccer Capital Summer’
Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kansas, will be the place to be in Wyandotte County to celebrate football.
Sporting Park will be home for what organisers are calling “Soccer Capital Summer.”
Officials say 20 different World Cup matches will show at the park along with concerts and a laundry list of special events, vendors and activations.

Johnson County’s ‘Kick it in the Park’
Johnson County, Kansas, is putting a classic twist on your football viewing this summer. Theatre in the Park will transform into “Kick it in the park” during the World Cup.
From June 16 to July 19, the Johnson County Parks and Recreation District venue will become a massive free watch party location.
Attendees can watch matches on a massive 20′ x 30′ LED screen, see live entertainment and visit local vendors and food trucks. Plus there will be football play spaces for all ages and hands-on art for kids and families.

Overland Park’s Summer Soccer Celebration
Overland Park, Kansas, will host the Summer Soccer Celebration during each KC match day.
Special events are planned for Clock Tower Landing, Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex, Prairiefire, and at the AdventHealth Sports Park and the Marketplace at Bluhawk.
Fun fact: The Round of 32 match scheduled for July 3 will coincide with the Red White and Bluhawk Independence Day celebrations, so it’s sure to be a blast.
