Frank Lampard’s move to Coventry City has proven successful, with the former Chelsea manager leading the club to promotion into the Premier League. Lampard achieved this feat in his first full season after a near miss in 2024/25. His salary appears justified after delivering Premier League status to the Sky Blues.
Lampard’s Salary Compared to Other Managers
Lampard’s salary at the Coventry Building Society Arena is thought to be in the millions. While perhaps not as high as his previous Premier League jobs, he is reportedly earning around £5m per year. This is less than the £15m he was reported to earn at Everton.
Even without a potential increase to tie him down long-term amid Premier League interest, Lampard’s current salary is more than some top-flight bosses. An annual salary of £5m would place Lampard among the top 10 highest-paid Premier League managers. It’s reportedly more than double the amount earned by Manchester United’s interim boss Michael Carrick.
It is possible Carrick could see a pay rise if he gets the job permanently.
Six managers are believed to earn more than Lampard. Everton boss David Moyes is also reportedly on £5m. Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta earn more, as do Tottenham, who have given Roberto De Zerbi significant financial backing.
Coventry City Pleased With Lampard’s Performance
Sky has upgraded its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to now include HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+ and Hayu, as well as 135 channels and full Sky coverage of the Premier League and EFL.
Sky broadcasts more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more with at least 215 live from the top flight alongside Formula 1, darts and golf.
City owner Doug King discussed talks over a new deal for Lampard, whose current contract runs until 2027. “Listen, it’s worked well,” King told The Guardian. “He put himself back into the arena and everybody sort of said: ‘OK, it’s Frank again, let’s see what happens here. He will probably near-miss it or it won’t go well,’ so there was quite a bit of pressure on him.
“He felt confident with his team that he could get clarity, motivation, focus, to take the club towards some form of success. Did he think we would be champions 18 months later? I don’t think so. Nor did I.”
