The San Francisco 49ers have selected Romello Height with the No. 70 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Height, an edge rusher from Texas Tech, was picked midway through the third round.
An Experienced Prospect
Romello Height is considered one of the oldest players in the 2026 NFL Draft, already 25 years old. Height’s age is attributed to a long college career, including time at Auburn (2020 and 2021), USC (2022 and 2023), Georgia Tech (2024), and Texas Tech (2025).
His college career included the COVID season in 2020 and an injury in 2022, which caused him to lose a year.
Height’s Strengths
Louis Riddick of ESPN described Height as playing at “a thousand miles per hour”. Height recorded a career-best 10.0 sacks for Texas Tech in 2025.
His performance in 2025 was his best college season. Being healthy helped him prove his ability.
49ers Believe in Height
The 49ers have shown their belief in Height by drafting him. Height will now head to the Bay Area.
The 49ers will be hoping that Height continues to improve.
