The third round of the Valero Texas Open has been suspended due to bad weather. The suspension means Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre has seen his lead reduced.
Play was suspended until Sunday. Live coverage of the final day will be available on Sky Sports Golf.
MacIntyre’s Lead Shrinks
Robert MacIntyre’s lead was cut from four shots to two by his playing partner Ludvig Åberg through six holes. MacIntyre had a commanding lead going into Saturday. He followed up an opening 66 with a 64.
MacIntyre made a steady start to his third round, picking up a birdie on the par-four fifth to reach 15 under par. Åberg birdied the first two holes and matched MacIntyre at the fifth.
Wallace Climbs the Leaderboard
Two eagles helped Matt Wallace climb into a share for third. The Englishman was on seven under through 14 and sitting a further two shots back.
Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune is also on 11 under. Marco Penge birdied six straight holes to move into a share of fifth place a shot further adrift.
Resumption on Sunday
The delay extended to six hours. The decision was eventually made to suspend play at 4.55pm local time.
The opening major of the year is coming soon. The Masters will be shown exclusively live from April 9-12 on Sky Sports. Live coverage of the first round begins on Thursday from 2pm on Sky Sports Golf.
