The men’s and women’s NCAA tournaments continued. No. 1 Michigan secured a dominant victory over No. 6 Tennessee, while UConn and Duke faced off for a place in the men’s Final Four. In the women’s tournament, UConn and UCLA advanced to the Final Four.
Michigan’s Decisive Win
No. 1 Michigan’s impressive run continued with a 95-62 victory over No. 6 Tennessee. This marks their fourth consecutive win by more than 20 points in the NCAA tournament.
UConn vs Duke: A Final Four Showdown
UConn and Duke faced off in a clash to decide the final spot in the men’s Final Four. Duke went on a 14-0 run to open up a significant lead. The Blue Devils led UConn 44-25 late in the first half. Duke out-rebounded and out-shot UConn, establishing a 30-21 lead with 7:29 remaining in the first half. Duke’s passing and good looks from behind the arc contributed to their 16-10 lead early in the game. Tarris Reed Jr. scored 12 of UConn’s 16 points.
UCLA Advances to Final Four
No. 1 UCLA secured a 70-58 win over Duke, advancing to the Final Four for the second consecutive season. Lauren Betts led the Bruins with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 steals. Angela Dugalic contributed 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Taina Mair led Duke with 21 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals. Riley Nelson added 13 points, and Delaney Thomas scored 12 points with 6 rebounds. Lauren Betts scored to give the Bruins a 68-58 lead with 54 seconds remaining. Betts had 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks in the game.
A trip to the Final Four is on the line.
