Texas Longhorns Beat Nebraska in Women’s College World Series

The Women’s College World Series continued on Sunday with the final two berths in the semifinals of the 2026 NCAA softball tournament to be determined. No. 1 Alabama and No. 7 Tennessee await the winners of Day 4’s games in Monday’s WCWS semifinals.

Texas Advances Past Nebraska

No. 2 Texas, the defending national champion, took on No. 4 Nebraska on Sunday. Texas defeated Nebraska 3-1. Nebraska fought through 10 innings to beat No. 5 Arkansas, then lost to No. 1 Alabama on Saturday.

Jordy Frahm gave up an infield single to Jaycie Nichols with one out in the sixth inning, ending a no-hitter bid. She then allowed another single to Kayden Henry. Katie Stewart then blasted a drive down the left-field line for a 3-run shot.

Katie Stewart’s home run put Texas up 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth. Jordy Frahm served up the home run to Katie Stewart.

Alabama’s Dominant Performance

No. 1 Alabama closed out the evening with a 5-1 win over No. 4 Nebraska. Alabama awaits the winner of Texas Tech-UCLA, while Nebraska tries to keep its season going versus Texas on Sunday. The Cornhuskers lost for the first time in 27 games.

Crimson Tide pitcher Jocelyn Briski allowed only one hit in seven innings with six strikeouts. Marlie Giles provided plenty of offense with a three-run homer.

Tennessee Edges Past Texas Tech

In Saturday’s first game, No. 7 Tennessee defeated No. 11 Texas Tech in nine innings on a walk-off home run by Emma Clarke. Vols pitcher Karlyn Pickens was outstanding, allowing one run and five hits with six strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings. The Red Raiders’ duo of Kaitlyn Terry and NiJaree Canady matched her, holding Tennessee to one run through eight innings.
