The San Antonio Spurs are set to host the LA Clippers in a Western Conference contest. DraftKings Sportsbook has the Spurs as 6.5-point home favourites, with the game total at 220.5 points. Both teams are chasing potential playoff spots.
Spurs’ Strong Home Record
The Spurs have been impressive since the start of February, going 13-1. They are three games behind the Thunder for the top spot in the West. At home, the Spurs are 22-6 and establishing themselves as contenders. The Clippers are ninth in the conference and destined for a spot in the play-in tournament.
Depending on seeding, the Clippers could face the Spurs in the first round of the playoffs.
Injury Updates Ahead of the Game
Darius Garland, John Collins, and Yanic Konan Niederhauser are out for the Clippers. Bogdan Bogdanovic is questionable. Harrison Barnes is out for San Antonio, who are playing the second night of a back-to-back. Julian Champagnie is questionable.
Player Prop Focus: Dylan Harper
Dylan Harper had eight combined points and assists in Thursday’s win over the Pistons. Before that contest, he had been regularly contributing off the bench for the Spurs. He cleared 15.5 points-plus-assists in 11 of his previous 14 games dating back to the end of January.
Harper had eclipsed this prop in eight of his last 10 games, averaging 17.2 P+A during that span. He had 22 points on Tuesday against the 76ers, and could garner an expanded role if Champagnie is sidelined.
Clippers’ Playmaking: Kris Dunn’s Role
Kris Dunn was running the Clippers’ offense after James Harden got traded to the Cavaliers. He should return to that expanded role with Garland sidelined.
Before recording just three assists on Wednesday, Dunn dished out at least five assists in 10 of 12 games. Dunn is mostly on the floor for defensive purposes, but he’s an effective playmaker when needed. Without Garland, he should be more involved on the offensive end.
Leonard’s Returns to San Antonio
Kawhi Leonard has played eight games in San Antonio since leaving the Spurs. In those returns, he has only cleared 27.5 points once. He’s averaging 27.9 points per game this season.
The Clippers are already resting Garland. If things get lopsided, Leonard could see a limited workload as well.
