Sporting Club Delhi and Kerala Blasters are looking to improve their positions in the Indian Super League (ISL). The two sides will meet at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. It is an opportunity for one of them to capitalise on the other’s frailties and secure three points. SC Delhi are currently 12th in the 14-team table, while Blasters are 13th.
Delhi’s Recent Draws
After a poor start, which included losing their first three games, the hosts appear to have made some progress. Delhi has drawn their previous two matches against Mumbai City FC and Jamshedpur FC.
Blasters Appoint Ashley Westwood
The southern outfit, Kerala Blasters, are not in good form. Following a six-match winless run, Blasters and their Spanish coach David Catala mutually parted ways. Ashley Westwood, who previously had a successful period with Bengaluru FC in India a decade ago, has been appointed. He will take charge for Sunday’s fixture.
Westwood’s Approach
Westwood’s primary goal is to foster a relaxed atmosphere within the club. He said his aims are to “First, bring a feel-good factor — energy, enjoyable training sessions and clear messages. We’ll have a game plan with and without the ball. The idea is to relax the players, build spirit and togetherness, and improve performances. If we enjoy football and work hard, results will follow.”
