Sporting Aim to Match Best Champions League Run as Bodo Seek History

Sporting are looking to equal their best performance in the Champions League/European Cup, aiming to reach the quarter-finals as they did in 1982/83.

Bodo/Glimt are also seeking to make history. They are trying to reach the quarter-finals for the first time, matching Rosenborg’s achievement as the only Norwegian team to reach that stage in 1996/97.

Bodo/Glimt’s Mindset

Bodo/Glimt midfielder Fet said that they do not want to defend their 3-0 advantage. “It will be a fantastic challenge to see how well we are playing. But as soon as we think about the result we will become more defensive and we will not be ourselves. And then the tie may be open.”

Fan Support in Alvalade

Bodo/Glimt will have strong support in Alvalade, with around 2600 fans. They had 3500 fans when they visited Inter.

Bodo/Glimt coach Knutsen joked about the support. “I think taxes should be lowered in Norway, so fans have a higher salary. I am impressed with the support we have had away.”

Bodo/Glimt are defending a 3-0 advantage.
