Spain and Egypt Clash in International Friendly

Spain and Egypt faced off in an international friendly, a match marked by near misses and solid defensive work from both sides. The game saw chances for both teams, but neither could find the back of the net.

Egypt’s Near Misses

Egypt’s Marmoush came close to opening the scoring with a powerful, swerving shot from outside the area. However, his effort struck the post, denying the Pharaohs the lead.

Zizo also threatened for Egypt, firing a shot from outside the box that went narrowly wide of the Spanish goal.

Spain’s Attacking Efforts Thwarted

Spain captain Ferran Torres almost scored after Grimaldo’s pass, but Egypt’s Fathy made a crucial intervention to prevent the goal.

Dani Olmo had an early chance, collecting a clearance inside the Egyptian area, but his shot was easily saved by Shobeir.

Lamine Yamal was involved in several attacking plays for Spain. He sent a good ball to the far post for Barrenetxea, whose header didn’t find a teammate in the penalty area. Yamal was also pushed by Fatouh, but the referee didn’t call a foul.

Defensive Battles and Frustrations

The Egyptian defence frustrated the Spanish players, with the Pharaohs enjoying periods of possession. Fornals attempted a back pass, but it was intercepted by the Egyptian defence. A central defender for Egypt cleared a cross into Spain’s half.

Barrenetxea attempted to cut into the Egyptian area, but his cross was forced and went straight into Shobeir’s hands. He also felt he was fouled by Hany on the edge of the area, but no foul was given.

Fathy complained about a push from Ferran Torres, who reacted to Fathy’s push by placing his hand on the opponent’s chest.

The match included a minute of remembrance for Dani Jarque at the RCDE Stadium.

Spain moved the ball from side to side, trying to create openings in Egypt’s solid defence. A long ball from an Egyptian defender went straight to the Spanish side.
