Santino Ferrucci is aiming for his first Indy 500 win in his 100th IndyCar start.
Sunday marks the 110th running of the Indianapolis 500.
Ferrucci’s Milestone Start
Santino Ferrucci will be driving the number 14 Chevrolet for A.J. Foyt Enterprises. He is set to start in the middle of the second row.
Sunday will mark his 100th start in the IndyCar Series.
He was named the Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year in 2019.
Confidence Ahead of the Race
Ferrucci expressed confidence in his team and equipment. “We have a great car, we have a great crew, there’s no reason we won’t be there,” Ferrucci said.
He added, “So I think if we keep our heads down, worry about us, there’s no reason we can’t be doing that at the end of the day.”
Ferrucci reflected on the significance of the milestone occurring at this particular race. “It’s kind of wild your 100th start and it’s around this place. It’s really special, just that milestone in general for me. I’m really happy about it.”
