Royals Aim to Build Momentum Against Orioles After Comeback Win

The Royals are aiming to build some momentum by taking the series from the Orioles.

Wacha on the Mound for Kansas City

A weight has been lifted off of the Royals after their comeback win. Kansas City did a lot of the things you expect from a professional team. This included getting runners home from third with less than two outs, key hits with runners in scoring position, and taking advantage of miscues from the other team.

Michael Wacha will be starting today. He has been spectacular to begin the young season.

In four quality starts he has thrown 27 innings and given up just 3 runs for a sparkling 1.00 ERA. He will look to continue that dominant form.

Bassitt Counters for Baltimore

Baltimore will counter Wacha with veteran Chris Bassitt. He is off to a much less impressive start.

The 37 year old righty has a 6.19 ERA currently and is striking out just 3.94 batters per 9 innings. His last start was by far his best so far when he went 5 innings, 4 hits, 4 walks, 2 strikeouts, and 0 runs allowed at Cleveland.

Bassitt has been a consistently effective starting pitcher for a very long time, so the Royals should not underestimate him.

Royals Lineup Announced

The Royals lineup is pretty standard.

Today they try to start building some momentum by taking the series from the Orioles.
