The defending champion started his 2026 Masters preparation alongside his father. They were joined by Augusta National members Jimmy Dunne and Michael Walrath. Rory’s caddie, Harry Diamond, walked with the foursome.
McIlroy and Dad Face Green Jackets
After nine holes, Rory confirmed that he and pops were “down three” to the Green Jackets.
Sunday marked the first time Rory could partake in the long-standing tradition. This tradition permits former winners to invite a guest.
Tradition at the Masters
Last April, Scottie Scheffler picked his mom, Diane. Ben Crenshaw asked his manager, Scotty Sayers, this year. Crenshaw only played nine holes.
Crenshaw then commented on the state of his golf game. “The only thing I can do these days is grow hair,” Gentle Ben said.
The 90th Masters Tournament begins Thursday, April 9.
