The Colorado Rockies are in Arizona to face the Diamondbacks. The two teams recently played each other, with the Diamondbacks winning two of the three games.
Pitching Matchups for the Series Opener
The Rockies will start RHP Zach Agnos. Agnos has made 13 appearances this season, recording 20 strikeouts and 10 walks. He was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on May 18.
Eduardo Rodriguez will start for the Diamondbacks. Rodriguez has allowed three or fewer runs in each of his last four starts. That includes a previous outing against Colorado on May 16, when he pitched 5.1 innings, allowing three runs while striking out six and walking none.
Rockies Aim to Break Series Drought
The Rockies hope to secure a series win, something they haven’t achieved in almost a month. The team’s focus is on enjoying the game. With little hope for a postseason spot, the Rockies are aiming to simply “have a good time at the yard”.
Injured List Update
Jordan Beck is on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.
Several Rockies players are on the 15-day injured list: Ryan Feltner (right ulnar nerve inflammation), Jimmy Herget (right shoulder impingement), Chase Dollander (right elbow sprain), and Victor Vodnik (right ulnar nerve inflammation).
The 60-day injured list includes Jeff Criswell (torn right elbow ligament), McCade Brown (right shoulder inflammation), RJ Petit (right elbow UCL strain), Pierson Ohl (right UCL repair), and Kris Bryant (lumbar degenerative disk disease).
The game is scheduled for 8:40 p.m. MDT. TV coverage includes Rockies.TV for the Rockies and DBACKS.TV and 12 News KPNX for the Diamondbacks. Radio coverage is on KOA 850 AM/94.1 FM for the Rockies and Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, La Campesina 101.9 FM and 860 AM for the Diamondbacks.
