The Boston Red Sox claimed a 3-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday, fuelled by home runs and a dominant performance from Sonny Gray.
Gray’s Confidence in the Team
Sonny Gray delivered a strong performance, pitching six innings and allowing just one run on two hits, while also recording six strikeouts.
Following the win, Gray conveyed a clear message of confidence in the Red Sox.
“I 100 percent believe in all of the guys in that locker room, and we just need to win as many games as we can and keep pushing forward,” Gray said on Wednesday. “Because I do think one of those runs, one of those streaks is coming for us.
“Tonight was awesome. Great defense, a couple big homers, but we are a good offensive team, and we’re a good team. And I truly believe that. So our time is coming.”
Red Sox Season Update
With the 3-1 victory over the Phillies, Boston’s record improved to 18-24 for the season. Gray’s personal record now stands at 4-1 with a 3.18 ERA in seven starts.
The Red Sox will aim to secure a series win against Philadelphia on Thursday, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:45 p.m. ET.
The Red Sox hope to get more home runs after key hits against the Phillies.
