The New England Patriots have bolstered their cornerback options with the addition of Kindle Vildor. The journeyman, who last played for the Buccaneers, is joining the team on a one-year deal.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the signing.
Vildor’s Career So Far
Vildor was drafted out of Georgia Southern in the fifth round of the 2020 draft. He began his career in Chicago but was released before the end of his rookie contract, after three seasons. He then joined Tennessee to play under head coach Mike Vrabel. Vildor’s time as a Titan ended after six weeks.
Since leaving Nashville in mid-October 2023, Vildor has had stints in Philadelphia, Detroit and Tampa. The 5-foot-11, 189-pound defender has played in 85 combined regular season and playoff games.
What Vildor Brings to the Patriots
Vildor has a pair of interceptions, a forced fumble and a sack to his name. He also has experience on special teams, primarily on punt return and kickoff coverage, as well as field goal and extra point block.
With the addition of the 28-year-old, the Patriots now have eight cornerbacks. Vildor joins Christian Gonzalez, Carlton Davis, Marcus Jones, Charles Woods, Kobee Minor, Marcellas Dial Jr. and Brandon Crossley.
