Ohio State Football to Revive All-Black Uniforms in 2026

Ohio State football has announced the return of its all-black uniforms.

The ‘tunnel vision’ uniforms are slated to reappear during the 2026 season, marking a revival of the fan-favourite look.

Buckeyes ‘Back in Black’ for 2026

The unveiling took place on May 11, with Ohio State Athletics confirming that the uniforms will be worn during the 2026 season. Decisions on which games will feature the themed uniforms will be released later.

A Winning Tradition in Black

The all-black uniforms were last seen in 2022, during a 52-21 victory against Wisconsin. The Buckeyes have a perfect record when wearing the uniforms, winning all four games in which they have been worn.

Design Details of the Updated Uniform

The updated black uniforms will feature a ‘silver flake’ finish on the helmet. They will also have ‘Buckeye Stripe’ metallic silver sleeves.

History of Alternate Uniforms

Ohio State first wore an alternate jersey in 2009 against Michigan, winning 21-10.

The Buckeyes last donned alternate uniforms in 2024, wearing all-white uniforms on the road against Oregon and all-grey uniforms at home vs. Iowa.
