Sporting are facing concerns over the fitness of Nuno Santos after he was forced off early in their match against Alverca.
Santos Subbed Off With Muscle Issue
Nuno Santos was replaced after just 27 minutes of the Alverca game. The substitution was due to a muscular problem.
The injury setback comes shortly after Santos’ return from a serious injury.
Manager’s Comments on Santos’ Condition
Sporting coach Rui Borges spoke about Nuno Santos’ injury after the Alverca match. Borges noted that Santos had recently returned to competition after a serious injury. He said that, after returning, “o corpo vai chiar em alguns sítios…”
That translates to: “when you come back, the body will creak in some places.”
It is not known how long Santos will be sidelined for.
