Nolan Smith Jr., a former Georgia football player and current NFL linebacker, was arrested for reckless driving in Twiggs County, according to the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office reported that Smith was arrested on Friday night.
Details of the Arrest
According to the sheriff’s office, Smith was arrested while driving on I-16 in Twiggs County at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Friday.
He was charged with speeding and reckless driving, according to the sheriff’s office.
Smith was booked into the Twiggs County Jail and has since bonded out.
Smith’s Football Career
Smith is a current NFL player for the Philadelphia Eagles.
He was a starter for the Georgia football team that won a national championship in 2022.

Less than two weeks ago, another Georgia football player was arrested on similar charges.
Ja’Marley Riddle, a recent transfer to the Bulldogs from Eastern Carolina, was arrested on May 8 on marijuana possession and speeding charges, according to an incident report from the Glynn County Police Department.
In February, current Georgia players Chris Cole and Darren Ikinnagbon were arrested with misdemeanor driving charges.
