NHL Suspensions: McAvoy, Greer, Malkin Handed Bans

The NHL has announced a series of suspensions and fines. These range from lengthy bans for on-ice incidents to fines for embellishment.

McAvoy’s Slashing Results in Six-Game Suspension

Charlie McAvoy has been suspended for six games. The suspension was handed down for slashing.

Further Suspensions Across the League

A.J. Greer has been suspended for three games for boarding. Evgeni Malkin also faces a suspension. His ban is for five games, due to slashing.

Several other players have also been suspended. Bryan Rust is suspended three games for an illegal check to the head. Radko Gudas received a five-game suspension for kneeing.

Logan Stanley has been suspended for one game for roughing. John Beecher also received a one-game suspension for roughing. Bobby McMann is suspended for one game due to high-sticking. Jonathan Drouin received a one-game suspension for cross-checking. Nurse is suspended one game for cross-checking. Myers is suspended three games for cross-checking. McDavid is suspended three games for cross-checking. Tsyplakov is suspended three games for illegal check to the head. Puljujarvi suspended two games for an illegal check to the head. Ekblad suspended 2 playoff games for elbowing. Hagel suspended 1 playoff game for interference. Zary suspended two games for elbowing. Zegras suspended three games for interference. Wild forward, Ryan Hartman suspended 10 games for roughing. Lilleberg suspended two games for interference. L’Heureux suspended three games for slew-footing.

Fines for Embellishment

The league has also issued fines for embellishment. These include Michkov fined $2,000 for embellishment. Sennecke was also fined $2,000 for embellishment.

Rantanen has been fined $2,000 for embellishment. Cousins was also fined $2,000 for embellishment. Hamilton fined $2,000 for embellishment. Sundqvist fined $2,000 for embellishment.

Other Suspensions

Ridly Greig has been suspended for two regular season games. The suspension is for roughing.

With numerous suspensions and fines handed out, the NHL has taken a firm stance on player conduct.
