NFL Quarterback Taylor Heinicke Announces Retirement at 33

Taylor Heinicke has called time on his NFL career. The former Carolina Panthers quarterback announced his retirement from American football in an Instagram post.

Heinicke is the second former Panthers passer to retire recently. PJ Walker moved on from the game last Thursday.

Heinicke’s Career

The 33-year-old made seven stops over his 11-year NFL career. He joined the Panthers in the spring of 2018.

Heinicke made his first NFL start for Carolina in a Week 16 match against the Atlanta Falcons. He completed 33 of 53 throws for 274 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions in the 24-10 loss.

Time with Other Teams

Heinicke made 28 more starts between the Washington Commanders and Atlanta Falcons through the 2023 campaign. His final appearance came for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024.

Heinicke’s career has come to an end.
