Ronda Rousey Returns to MMA to Face Gina Carano Next Week

Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano are set to clash in an unexpected fight next week.

The fight marks a return to MMA for both trailblazers after many years. Rousey, a former UFC bantamweight champion, has not fought since her knockout loss to Amanda Nunes in 2016. Carano’s last bout took place in 2009.

Since then, Rousey has turned to professional wrestling with WWE. Carano is known for her acting career after starring in Star Wars’ Mandalorian show.

Rousey vs Carano Fight Details

The Americans will emerge from fighting retirement to square off in California. The MMA show is organised by Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.

Rousey, 39, and Carano, 44, will be joined on the card by former UFC stars Francis Ngannou, Nate Diaz and Mike Perry, among others. Ngannou takes on Philipe Lins. Diaz and Perry square off in what is expected to be an all-action affair.

Rousey vs Carano will take place on Saturday 16 May at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. The main card is due to begin at 2am BST on Sunday. The main event is likely following at 4am BST on Sunday.
