The League One and League Two seasons are heading towards a dramatic conclusion, with play-off spots and relegation battles still to be decided. Newport County’s dramatic late win has significantly impacted the League Two relegation zone. MK Dons have clinched promotion to League One.
Kamwa’s Last-Gasp Goal Secures Newport Win
Bobby Kamwa scored a 118th-minute winner for Newport against Oldham. The Exiles’ hero found the net to lift Newport out of the bottom two. It was a dramatic end to the game, which saw Newport earn a penalty in the 15th minute of added time.
Oldham’s substitute keeper, Tom Donaghy, saved Kamwa’s penalty. Donaghy had come on to replace injured Mathew Hudson. However, Kamwa then nestled a winner into the bottom corner at the death to see Rodney Parade erupt.
The 108th-minute winner leaves Newport one point above the bottom two. Harrogate’s 2-0 win over Walsall wasn’t enough to get them outside the relegation zone, as they now fall back into the relegation places.
Play-off Scramble Intensifies
Grimsby secured a play-off spot with a 4-0 victory over Swindon. Chesterfield have overtaken Swindon in the final play-off spot. Next week’s match will be a shoot-out.
Promotion and Relegation Battles Go to the Wire
MK Dons have confirmed their promotion to League One. They go into the last match of the season at the top of the table. Cambridge’s 3-0 win leaves them in third with automatic promotion in their hands.
Crawley are just outside the drop zone. Barrow’s hopes are all but gone. AFC Wimbledon’s late win at Wigan saw the Dons safe from relegation.

Bolton secured their play-off place after their draw at Bradford. The Bantams require a point at Exeter on the final day. Exeter’s draw at Burton means the Brewers are safe. The Grecians need a win on the final day for any chance to stay up after Peterborough lost at Stockport in the early kick-off and Leyton Orient lost at Blackpool.
