Nebraska Huskers to Face Arkansas Razorbacks at WCWS

The No. 5 Arkansas Razorbacks are set to clash with No. 4 Nebraska in their first-ever Women’s College World Series (WCWS) appearance. The game is scheduled for Thursday, May 28, inside Devon Park, with the broadcast on ESPN2.

The winner will advance to play Saturday at 6 p.m., while the loser will play Friday at 8:30 p.m.

Razorbacks’ Road to the World Series

Arkansas has enjoyed a dominant run through the NCAA Regional and Super Regional play, securing five run-rule wins. Their record stands at 47-11 this season, including a program-best 26 wins by run-rule.

Arkansas matched the 1995 Arizona Wildcats as the only teams to run-rule their first five games in the NCAA tournament. The Hogs swept through Super Regionals by defeating Duke 14-5 (5 inn.) in game one and 10-2 (5 inn.) in game two.

The Razorbacks were the only team in the nation to go 3-0 with three run-rule wins in regional play. They defeated Fordham 8-0 (6 inn.) and USF twice by scores of 9-1 and 10-2 in six innings. It was the eighth time in NCAA Tournament history that a team has gone undefeated while winning each of its games by run-rule since the Super Regional format was introduced in 2005. The Hogs have outscored opponents 447-153 this season.

Arkansas’ Consistent Ranking

The Arkansas Razorbacks have consistently been ranked among the nation’s best. They have been ranked in the Top 25 of the NFCA Coaches poll for a program-best 102 consecutive weeks dating back to the start of the 2020 season.

Arkansas is one of five programmes nationally to have appeared in the Top 25 of every NFCA Coaches Poll since the start of the 2020 season, joining Oklahoma, Florida, UCLA, and Florida State.

Razorbacks’ Batting Prowess

The Arkansas lineup has been exceptional during NCAA tournament play. The Razorbacks enter the WCWS with the top four individual batting average marks among all WCWS participants.

  • Dakota Kennedy – .588
  • Atalyia Rijo – .571
  • Brinli Bain – .545
  • Karlie Davison – .538

Arkansas also has individual leaders among WCWS teams in several categories:

  • Brinli Bain leads in On-Base % with .588.
  • Karlie Davison leads in SLG% with 1.615.
  • Karlie Davison leads in OPS with 2.282.

Karlie Davison is also tied for first in HR with 4, and leads in RBI with 13 and total bases with 21.

Kennedy’s Addition to the Roster

Arkansas added two-time NFCA All-American LF Dakota Kennedy this past summer. Kennedy transferred from Arizona, where she was a third-team NFCA All-American selection in both 2024 and 2025.

The Arkansas Razorbacks and Nebraska Huskers are set for their match, with Arkansas bringing a strong batting lineup and a dominant tournament record.
