The Street Profits were defeated by Logan Paul and Austin Theory at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, with Paul and Theory retaining the World Tag Team Championships.
Heyman and Breakker’s Interference
The Street Profits were unable to overcome what became a four-on-two battle, due to interference from Paul Heyman and Bron Breakker.
The Street Profits looked set to win after The Anointment-From the Heavens combo on Theory. However, Heyman intervened by putting Theory’s foot on the rope, which broke up the three-count.
Just before that, Breakker attacked the Street Profits after sprinting into the ring, but Angelo Dawkins tossed him over the announcers’ table.
Brass Knuckles Impact Ford’s Chances
The match took a further turn when Paul struck Montez Ford with brass knuckles outside the ring, before throwing him back onto the mat.
Dawkins then flipped over the ropes to take out Paul. This gave Theory the chance to pin Ford for the victory.
Street Profits’ Return and History
The Street Profits made their return on the post-WrestleMania 42 edition of Raw after a seven-month hiatus from WWE programming. They saved Seth Rollins from an attack by The Vision at that time.
Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins returned to in-ring action a few weeks later, teaming with Joe Hendry to beat Paul, Theory and Bron Breakker in a six-man tag team match. Rollins attacked Breakker during the match, which allowed The Street Profits and Hendry to take advantage.
The Street Profits expressed their distrust of Rollins during a tense backstage confrontation after the match, stating that their involvement with The Vision was solely to pursue the tag team titles.
Title Reign and Team Experience
Paul and Theory became tag team champions in March when they beat The Usos for the titles in a tag team street fight on Raw, with IShowSpeed interfering.
While Paul, Theory and Speed lost a six-man tag team bout against The Usos and LA Knight at WrestleMania 42, Paul and Theory held the tag titles for nearly two months going into SNME.
