Mbappé Addresses Injury Concerns Amid Real Madrid’s Title Push

Kylian Mbappé has hit back at what he claims are inaccuracies surrounding the reporting of his recent knee injury. The Real Madrid striker stated that ‘some false things have been said’ regarding the injury that has limited his playing time. Mbappé made these comments at a promotional event in France.

Mbappé Claims Knee is ‘Getting Better’

Mbappé stated his knee is ‘fine’ and ‘getting better’. He added, ‘It’s going quite well, and I know there’s been a lot of speculation about it and some false things have been said.’

He addressed the nature of being a prominent athlete. ‘It’s the life of a top athlete, and we’re used to people saying things without verifying them or having any basis in fact.’

Madrid’s Conservative Approach to Treatment

Real Madrid initially confirmed that Mbappé had re-aggravated a knee injury from December at the beginning of March. The club stated they were taking a ‘conservative approach’ to his treatment.

Mbappé has made substitute appearances in Madrid’s last two matches, including their recent victory over Atleti. He had been out of action for three-and-a-half weeks due to the sprained left knee, which has been a recurring issue since late last year.

France Friendlies on the Horizon

Mbappé is included in the France squad for upcoming friendlies. France are scheduled to play Brazil on March 26 and Colombia on March 29 in the United States.

Real Madrid’s LaLiga and Champions League Pursuits

Real Madrid’s win over Atleti keeps them in contention in LaLiga. They remain four points behind leaders Barcelona.

Alphonso Arbeloa’s side are also preparing for a Champions League quarterfinal tie with Bayern Munich in the coming weeks.

Mbappé’s return to fitness will be a boost as Madrid look to challenge on both domestic and European fronts.
