Maxx Crosby Trade Buzz: Bears and Cowboys Eye Raiders Star

The possibility of a Maxx Crosby trade is gaining traction in NFL circles. Despite the Las Vegas Raiders’ apparent reluctance to trade the pass rusher, sources suggest a deal might be possible if the offer is right.

Teams Eyeing Crosby

Multiple teams believe Las Vegas wants a Micah Parsons-type trade to facilitate a deal for Crosby. While securing two first-round picks plus a young player is considered unlikely, some teams might offer a first-round pick and additional compensation. The 28-year-old Crosby has recorded 68 tackles for loss over the last three seasons.

The Chicago Bears are a team to watch in potentially dealing for Crosby. The Dallas Cowboys are also lurking, according to sources. The new league year begins March 11.

Crosby’s Contract Situation

Uncertainty surrounds Crosby’s willingness to play under his current contract in 2026. Last March, he signed a three-year, $109.5 million extension. The Raiders, under then-first year GM John Spytek, made him the highest-paid pass rusher in the league.

Crosby’s $35.5 million average annual value contract is now more than $10 million below the top of the market with Parsons. If Crosby is willing to play this upcoming season on his current deal, that would sweeten the offers for Las Vegas.

If Crosby wanted a raise, that would lessen the compensation sent to the Raiders. At least one high-ranking source believes Crosby would play this season under his current contract.

Bears’ Draft Capital

The Bears possess their full complement of draft picks for 2026. Chicago can still be aggressive in acquiring a top-tier player because they have one more year of Caleb Williams playing on his rookie contract.

Other Potential Moves

Kyler Murray’s release from the Cardinals will be official next week. Murray can have his choice of teams since it’s assumed he will sign for the veteran minimum of $1.3 million. Murray would immediately compete with J.J. McCarthy this offseason for starting quarterback rights.

One Bears player plenty around the league are keeping an eye on is wide receiver D.J. Moore. The Patriots could be a landing spot for Moore if the Bears do a deal involving the receiver.

With the new league year beginning March 11, the coming days could see significant movement regarding Crosby’s future and other player acquisitions.
