Sousa revealed that Roberto Martínez could have departed the National Team earlier than his actual exit. This potential early departure was governed by a specific clause included in his agreement with the FPF.

Reports from Pedro Sousa indicated two differing figures regarding the terms of this exit. It was stated that Martínez could have left the National Team for 1.5 million euros. Separately, Sousa also mentioned that Roberto Martínez had the option to leave the Seleção for 50%.
