Liverpool are keeping an eye on Alisson Becker and Florian Wirtz as they prepare to face Aston Villa. Ibrahima Konate and Mohamed Salah are expected to be available for selection.
Salah has recovered from a muscle issue. He should be able to play a role in the final away match of his Reds career.
Alisson is nearing a return to action after being sidelined since mid-March.
Liverpool’s Injury Updates and Availability
Konate came off in the second half of last weekend’s draw with Chelsea, while Wirtz missed the game entirely due to illness.
Head coach Arne Slot told reporters that Konate has trained with the team and is OK. Salah will be available for a few minutes. Slot added that Alisson is training with the team again and they will assess if he is ready or needs another week.
Wirtz has a stomach infection and is on antibiotics, so his fitness will be evaluated.
- Salah has 130 goal involvements in away Premier League fixtures.
- Only Wayne Rooney (139), Ryan Giggs (137) and Harry Kane (135) have more.
- Virgil van Dijk’s minutes total in all competitions this season currently stands at 4,761.
- This is the most of any outfield Liverpool player since Jamie Carragher in 2007-08 (4,789).
Liverpool’s long-term absentees include Stefan Bajcetic, Conor Bradley, Hugo Ekitike, Wataru Endo and Giovanni Leoni.
Aston Villa’s Team News and Focus
This is Villa’s last outing before they contest the Europa League final with SC Freiburg next week.
For Villa, confirmation of a top-five Premier League finish – and a berth in the 2026-27 Champions League – is on offer for the winners of the Villa Park clash.
The hosts will continue to be without the injured Amadou Onana, Alysson and Boubacar Kamara.
Harvey Elliott is ineligible to feature against his parent club.
Villa boss Unai Emery said they have the same players out. He confirmed that Amadou Onana, Alysson and Kamara are not available.
Emery added that other players should be ready to play.
Emery’s Perspective on the Match
Emery stated that everything is very important and in the process each game is very important. He noted that they are getting to the end of the season with the target so close – the highest target they expected at the beginning. To finish the season in the top five is really something fantastic, according to Emery.
