Lamar Odom Claims Kobe Bryant Sent Chilling Afterlife Warning

Lamar Odom, the former NBA star, has made the claim that Kobe Bryant visited him in a dream. Odom says Bryant delivered a chilling warning about the afterlife. The two-time NBA champion shared a locker room with Bryant during their time at the LA Lakers.

Odom, who has spoken openly about his personal battles, revealed the encounter on the Double Coverage podcast. He stated that the ‘Mamba’ continues to appear in his dreams years after his passing.

Bryant’s Cryptic Message

According to Odom, the dream involved the two former teammates playing basketball together. Bryant then issued a cryptic message. ‘He said something to me [that] I’ll never forget: ‘The afterlife ain’t what people make it up to be.”

The revelation visibly shook the former Sixth Man of the Year. He stated that the encounter was incredibly vivid and has forced him to reflect. ‘I didn’t know how to take that,’ he admitted, speaking on the experience that has continued to puzzle him.

He has suggested several possibilities for the message. These include the idea that Bryant may have been expressing a longing for the life he left behind.

Odom’s Recent Rehab Stint and DUI Arrest

Last month, Odom checked out of rehab in Los Angeles after completing a 30-day treatment program. The 46-year-old New York native recently entered the program at iRely Recovery following a DUI arrest.

Odom insisted that neither alcohol nor narcotics contributed to his arrest. Police say his car smelled of marijuana and he admitted to smoking earlier that day. He was detained on suspicion of DUI and a count of driving more than 100mph.

His manager, Gina Rodriguez, told TMZ he is trying to shake his marijuana use. This is due to concerns it could lead him back to harder drugs.

Odom’s Past Struggles

Odom discussed his problem with drugs during a recent podcast interview with retired NBA stars and distant cousins, Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady.

Odom told the All-Star hosts his issues began with marijuana at age 14, which is shortly after his mother died.

  • Odom was previously married to Khloe Kardashian from 2009 until late 2016.
  • Bryant passed away on January 26, 2020, along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna.
  • They died following a horrifying helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.

Bryant was back in the headlines recently after Heat star Bam Adebayo.
