Kenny McLean Signs New Two-Year Deal with Norwich City

Kenny McLean has signed a new two-year contract with Norwich City.

The 34-year-old Scotland midfielder has made 310 appearances for the Canaries since signing from Aberdeen in January 2018.

McLean’s Commitment to Norwich

McLean’s last contract was signed in September 2023 and was due to expire this summer. However, in March, McLean revealed that the one-year option to extend it into next season had already been taken up by the club during the 2024-25 campaign.

Norwich have now offered McLean fresh terms, which he has accepted.

“The decision was pretty easy, the conversations were pretty short,” McLean told BBC Radio Norfolk. “This club’s now part of my life. I’ve been here eight years and I would love to finish my career here.”

McLean’s Role and Future Aspirations

McLean said: “I’ve got a year left; the club didn’t have to do what they’re doing but the manager puts a lot of trust in me and I want to repay him with performances and helping the team.”

He added: “Every single day, I try and do as much as I can to improve people round about me [and] improve myself, which I’m still doing at 34.”

McLean stated: “I see success at this football club, with the manager in charge and the foundations that we’re laying now, and I want to be part of it.”

Season’s End and McLean’s Goal

Norwich finished ninth in the Championship following a 1-1 draw with Swansea City on the final day of the season.

McLean scored Norwich’s goal in that match, his third in 45 games during the campaign.

McLean is the club’s current player of the season.
