Kelsey Plum is currently demonstrating a level of performance that some feel is being undervalued. She has scored at least 25 points in each of her first four games this season.
Plum’s Scoring Prowess
Plum is averaging 26.8 points per game. She’s shooting 59.4% from the field and 41.7% from deep.
The Los Angeles Sparks have enough pieces around Plum that she can exploit a defense nearly at will.
There’s a suggestion to back Kelsey Plum for the next month, with the expectation that oddsmakers will eventually adjust their valuations to reflect her true abilities.
Kayla Thornton Seeks Redemption
Kayla Thornton is looking to bounce back after a difficult game. She went 0-of-11, including 0-of-3 from deep in a loss to the Chicago Sky.
Thornton played 30 minutes in that game. The unusual early-season rest may have given her time to reflect on her performance.
In the Valkyries’ first two games, Thornton hit three 3-pointers each, going 6-of-14 (42.9%). There’s encouragement for Thornton to keep shooting.
Courtney Williams’ Adjustment
Courtney Williams is undergoing an adjustment with the Minnesota Lynx. Williams has long claimed she is more of a shooting guard than a point guard.
Olivia Miles has been earning more responsibility. The ball is in Williams’s hands less and less.
After opening the season with six assists and then five, Williams has managed just three in her last two games. That may become more of her standard, and it is not a bad thing for Minnesota.
All major sportsbooks will offer WNBA props throughout the season.
