The Kansas City Chiefs are set to add Kaiir Elam to their defence.
Reports indicate that Kansas City has agreed to sign the cornerback, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
Elam’s Journey to Kansas City
Elam, who is 24 years old, spent last season with both the Cowboys and the Titans. He was traded to Dallas by Buffalo at the beginning of the league year in March, following his initial three seasons with the Bills. Elam played in 10 games, starting in seven, for Dallas before being waived in November.
Shortly after being waived by the Cowboys, Elam signed with the Titans. He then participated in four games with the team for the remainder of the season.
A Former First-Round Pick
Elam was the No. 23 overall pick in the 2022 draft. He has played in 43 career games, starting in 19 of them. Throughout his career, Elam has recorded eight passes defensed and two interceptions.
Chiefs Address Secondary Needs
The Chiefs are looking to fill gaps in their secondary. This comes after trading Trent McDuffie and losing Jaylen Watson in free agency.
Elam’s arrival could provide depth and competition in the Chiefs’ defensive backfield.
