Julian Edelman has spoken about the New England Patriots reclaiming AFC supremacy. He shared his reaction to their performance last season.
Edelman on Patriots’ Success
Edelman spoke with Chiefs Wire’s Ed Easton Jr. He discussed the unveiling of the new 2027 INFINITI QX65 during the interview.
Edelman commented on the Patriots returning to the Super Bowl last season for the first time since 2018. He noted they lost to the Seattle Seahawks.
He said it has been really awesome to see the team’s success. He highlighted their ability to win in Denver on the road in the playoffs.
Edelman also praised the team for turning things around quickly with a young quarterback, new head coach and new team design. He noted the impact of free agents and draft picks. “Rising tide lifts all boats when the Patriots are doing well, we’re all doing well,” said Edelman.
Leadership and Team Culture
Edelman attributed the Patriots’ success to the team’s ecosystem and leadership. He specifically mentioned Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.
He also recalled the influence of Teddy Bruschi and Kevin Faulk on younger players. He emphasised the importance of consistent effort in practice.
“If you’re a guy that’s 53rd on the list trying to make the team, and you don’t put in that kind of effort, you’re going to look weird. When your highest-paid guy and your best football player are practicing their tail off every single day, you have no choice but to practice like that,” said Edelman.
Edelman added that the preparation process of trying to win each day was a key separator. He credited the team’s leadership for this.
QX65 Reveal with Gronkowski
Edelman and Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski attended the unveiling of the all-new 2027 INFINITI QX65. The former teammates chatted and walked through Grand Central Terminal in New York City during the reveal.
Edelman commented on the car’s features. “If you look at the seats, they’re insanely detailed. They look awesome. They look awesome, but they’re super comfortable. So a bug guy like ‘Gronk’ can sit in it, and it’s still functional,” said Edelman.
The QX65 is designed for the midsize luxury segment. It reflects INFINITI’s legacy of challenging convention.
Led by quarterback Drake Maye, New England became the first AFC Super Bowl representative since the 2021 season, replacing Kansas City.
