Jordy Frahm has received the NFCA Player of the Year Award for the second straight season. This announcement came just a day after she was named the 2026 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year. She was also named a first-team All-American and a Rawlings Gold Glove winner at pitcher.
Alexis Jensen also earned recognition from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Wednesday. Jensen was named a third-team All-American.
Huskers Earn All-American Awards
The Nebraska natives increased the Huskers’ total to 33 All-America awards in program history. Frahm became the 10th Husker to be a two-time All-American, and she joined Ali Viola as the only two-time first-team All-Americans in program history. Jensen is just the fourth Nebraska freshman to be recognised as an NFCA All-American and the first since Taylor Edwards in 2011.
Frahm’s Historic Achievement
Frahm is the first athlete to be the back-to-back NFCA Player of the Year since the award was founded in 2016. Her first-team All-America honors solidified her as a four-time first-team All-American – including her two seasons at Oklahoma – as Frahm became only the 14th player in NCAA Softball history to accomplish the feat. Frahm also joined fellow Papillion native Courtney Wallace (2022) as the only Huskers to win a Gold Glove.
Frahm’s Impact This Season
The senior helped Nebraska to Big Ten regular-season and tournament titles this season and has aided NU to its eighth overall Women’s College World Series appearance. This season, Frahm leads the Big Red offense with a .416 batting average and 19 home runs. Frahm has added 50 RBI, 11 doubles and 59 runs scored. She has a slugging percentage of .827 and an on-base percentage of .511, for an OPS of 1.338.
In the circle, Frahm is 20-4 with a 1.14 ERA and 12 saves. Her 12 saves have tied the Big Ten single-season record and rank sixth in NCAA history. She has added eight shutouts and has struck out 234 batters and only walked 30. She ranks in the top 10 nationally in ERA (fourth), saves (first), shutouts (fourth), strikeout-to-walk ratio (third), strikeouts (ninth) and WHIP (fifth).
Jensen’s Freshman Success
A Gretna native, Jensen is the first Nebraska freshman to be named an All-American in 15 years. In the circle, Jensen is 25-2 and owns Nebraska freshman records in wins (25) and strikeouts (217). She leads all freshmen nationally in wins and strikeouts and was one of three finalists for the NFCA Freshman of the Year award. She ranks in the top 15 nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio (fourth), strikeouts (14th), strikeouts per seven innings (sixth), wins (seventh) and WHIP (15th). Offensively, Jensen is batting .319 with four doubles and six home runs, along with 17 RBI.
