Jannik Sinner Favourite for Indian Wells Title, Says Rusedski

Jannik Sinner has made a strong start at Indian Wells, defeating Dalibor Svrcina. He won 6-1, 6-1 in just over an hour. Greg Rusedski believes Sinner is the number one favourite to win the title.

Rusedski Backs Sinner for Victory

Rusedski stated his belief on his podcast, Off Court with Greg. He said he would bet on Sinner to win Indian Wells. His reasoning is that Sinner has not yet won a title this year. Rusedski acknowledges that Carlos Alcaraz is currently the most in-form player. However, Rusedski thinks the conditions suit Sinner.

Rusedski explained that the ball rises and bounces a lot, travelling well in the desert air. He added that the court is quite slow, giving Sinner plenty of time to hit the ball. Rusedski did point out that Carlos Alcaraz also loves these courts.

Potential Sinner-Alcaraz Final

Rusedski believes everyone wants to see a final between Sinner and Alcaraz. He sees it as a match between the top two players in the world. Rusedski notes that Alcaraz has not lost a match this year and has been brilliant.

Rusedski believes Sinner wants to send a message, reminding everyone not to forget about him. He thinks Sinner will return to the final. Rusedski anticipates another duel between Sinner and Alcaraz at Indian Wells. He added that there are other players to watch, but he is backing Sinner to win.

Indian Wells Continues

The third round of Indian Wells is currently in progress. Other matches include Alcaraz vs Dimitrov, Djokovic vs Majchrzak and Hijikata vs Darderi.
