Gujarat Titans have risen to the top of the Indian Premier League after a dominant victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The Titans, having secured their fifth consecutive win, bowled out Sunrisers for a mere 86 runs, following their own innings of 168-5.
Titans’ Batting Display
Sai Sudharsan anchored the Titans’ innings with a stylish 61 off 44 balls, which included two sixes. Shubman Gill (5) and Jos Buttler (7) found it difficult to get going. Washington Sundar’s 50 off 33 balls helped the hosts to a competitive total.
Sunrisers’ Collapse Against Rabada and Holder
Sunrisers’ Travis Head (0) was caught off a leading edge early in their reply. Abhishek Sharma soon followed, bowled by Kagiso Rabada for just six.
The Titans remained in control throughout the innings, with only four Sunrisers batters reaching double figures. Rabada finished with figures of 3-28. Jason Holder’s variations led to him taking three wickets.
Implications for the IPL Table
The Sunrisers now sit third in the standings. They are two points behind the Titans.
The Titans will next face Kolkata Knight Riders. Sunrisers will play Chennai Super Kings in their next match.
