Hendon Hooker Returns to Tennessee in Titans Deal

Former Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker is heading back to Tennessee.

The Tennessee Titans are adding Hooker on a free agent deal, according to a source.

Hooker’s NFL Journey

Hooker was previously a Detroit Lions draft pick in 2023. In his brief NFL career, Hooker has played for Detroit, Carolina and the New York Jets. He appeared in three games in 2024, attempting nine total passes.

College Success at Tennessee

In 2022, Hooker was the SEC Offensive Player of the Year and a first-team All-SEC passer with the Vols. He threw for 3,135 yards and 27 touchdowns with only two interceptions. Hooker posted a 9-2 record as a starter that season before an injury ended his season prematurely.

Titans Quarterback Room

Cam Ward, a former No. 1 pick, leads the Titans quarterback room heading into his second season. The Titans also added Mitchell Trubisky, a former top pick, as a backup through free agency. Will Levis, Hooker’s 2023 NFL Draft compatriot and former SEC rival, is also a quarterback in the Titans’ room.
