Gujarat Titans will face Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday, but GT are not taking their struggling opponents lightly.
Solanki Praises KKR’s Recent Form
Vikram Solanki, GT’s director of cricket, stated on Friday that they must respect KKR. He emphasised that KKR has played good cricket in the last few games, highlighting their four consecutive wins.
Solanki’s comments come even as Punjab Kings have lost four in a row, showing GT are not complacent.
Middle Order Contributions Defended
Solanki addressed the perception that GT’s middle order might not be getting the credit it deserves. He argued it’s a generalisation to suggest the middle order isn’t playing its part.
He explained that when the top order scores well, the middle order sometimes doesn’t get the opportunity, but they have performed when required.
Solanki cited specific examples of players contributing. He mentioned Washington Sundar’s exceptional innings and Nishant Sindhu’s counter-attack in the last game after the team lost two wickets.
“So I think we must credit those guys as well,” he remarked.
GT Focused on the Task Ahead
With much attention on GT’s high-scoring top three, Solanki is keen to highlight contributions throughout the team.
Despite KKR’s struggles, Gujarat Titans are preparing carefully for their upcoming match, acknowledging their opponent’s capabilities and strengths.
