The weights have been released for the Grand National at Aintree.
55 entries remain for the race on 11 April. Only the 34 top-rated horses will make the cut for the final lineup.
Top-Weighted Horses
I Am Maximus (FR), trained by Willie Mullins IRE, tops the list with a weight of 11-12. Following closely behind is Nick Rockett (IRE), also from Willie Mullins IRE, carrying 11-11.
Banbridge (IRE), trained by Joseph O’Brien IRE, is also set to carry 11-11. Grangeclare West (IRE), from the Willie Mullins IRE stable, has a weight of 11-10.
Gerri Colombe (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott IRE, will carry 11-10. Haiti Couleurs (FR), trained by Rebecca Curtis, also has a weight of 11-10.
Other Notable Entries
L’Homme Presse (FR), trained by Venetia Williams, is set to carry 11-8. Firefox (IRE), from the Gordon Elliott IRE stable, has a weight of 11-4.
Monty’s Star (IRE), trained by Henry de Bromhead IRE, will carry 11-3. Spanish Harlem (FR), trained by Willie Mullins IRE, is also listed at 11-3.
Irish Trainers Dominate Entries
Willie Mullins IRE has multiple horses entered. These include I Am Maximus, Nick Rockett, Grangeclare West, Spanish Harlem, Lecky Watson, Champ Kiely, High Class Hero, and Captain Cody.
Gordon Elliott IRE also has a strong presence with entries such as Gerri Colombe, Firefox, Favori De Champdou, Three Card Brag, and Stellar Story. Henry de Bromhead IRE’s entries include Monty’s Star, Gorgeous Tom, Amirite, Harry Des Ongrais and The Short Go.
Gavin Cromwell IRE has several entries, including Perceval Legallois, Now Is The Hour, Final Orders and Yeah Man. Joseph O’Brien IRE has Banbridge and Jordans entered.
Lower Weighted Horses
Several horses are carrying weights below 10-8. In d’Or (FR), trained by Fergal O’Brien, has the lowest weight at 9-7.
Shanbally Kid (IRE) and Will Do (IRE) trained by Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott respectively, are set to carry 9-9.
