A former UFC champion is set to make his return during International Fight Week. Cody Garbrandt and Adrian Yanez are slated to face off in a bantamweight contest at UFC 329.
Multiple sources have confirmed the bantamweight matchup between Cody Garbrandt and Adrian Yanez is set for UFC 329. The event is scheduled for July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Garbrandt Returns to the Octagon
Garbrandt recently returned to the win column. He secured a unanimous decision victory against Xiao Long at UFC 326 in March.
Prior to that, Garbrandt suffered a decision loss to Raoni Barcelos at UFC Atlanta in June. He was also submitted by Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 300 in April 2024. Since his bantamweight title win against Dominick Cruz at UFC 207 in December 2016, Garbrandt’s record stands at 4-7 inside the octagon.
Yanez Looks to Rebound
Yanez initially had a strong start to his UFC career. After earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series, he won his first five promotional bouts and earned bonuses in all five.
Since then, Yanez has only won one fight in his past five. This includes a controversial majority draw in his most recent bout against Ricky Simon at UFC Seattle.
The bantamweight matchup is part of the UFC’s annual International Fight Week card.
