Gage Jump Extends Scoreless Streak for Las Vegas

Gage Jump, an Athletics’ prospect, is starting to find his footing in Triple-A.

The Athletics’ No. 3 prospect delivered seven scoreless innings in his start. He struck out nine and extended a scoreless streak to 11 innings across his past two starts.

Jump’s Strong Performance Despite Team Loss

Las Vegas couldn’t get him the win. They allowed six runs in the ninth inning of a 6-5 loss to Albuquerque at Las Vegas Ballpark.

Jump lowered his ERA to 4.50 in the process. His ERA is 2.75 in May.

Fastball Key to Jump’s Success

Jump had everything working as he racked up his nine punchouts. His 60-grade fastball was the key.

He earned five K’s on the pitch, and it maintained its velocity throughout the outing, topping out at 97 mph in the seventh. The 23-year-old was also aided by three successful ABS challenge overturns for strikes and one strikeout on a batter’s pitch clock violation.

Jump’s Path to Success

Jump managed to escape a first-and-third jam in the first inning thanks to a one-out double play. It was smooth sailing from there.

An Albuquerque runner reached scoring position just once more with Jump on the mound, a double in the second inning.

While Jump’s walk numbers have plummeted in recent outings, he’s also leading A’s prospects with 56 strikeouts across 38 innings.

  • Jump is the A’s No. 3 prospect.
  • Jump is MLB Pipeline’s No. 41 overall prospect.
  • Jump was the 73rd overall pick in the 2024 Draft out of LSU.

The 73rd overall pick in the 2024 Draft out of LSU soared to Double-A in his professional debut in 2025, and he’s picking up steam again in 2026.
