NASCAR Suspends Evanna Howell After Speedway Incident

NASCAR has suspended Evanna Howell indefinitely after an incident at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The suspension was included in NASCAR’s weekly penalty report issued on Wednesday, May 27. The report cited a “behavioral” incident as the reason for the suspension.

Details of the Alleged Assault

Court records from Cabarrus County indicate that Howell, 35, was arrested on Saturday, May 23. An arrest warrant alleges she used a golf cart to assault a man.

She was subsequently charged with assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury.

A Concord police report stated the alleged incident occurred on Saturday afternoon at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The report indicated the man was 77 years old and sustained a “severe laceration.”

Howell was released from the Cabarrus County jail on May 26, after posting a $125,000 bond.

Howell’s Role at 23XI Racing

Howell’s LinkedIn profile states she is a senior account manager for 23XI Racing. The team is co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin.

According to her profile, she has been with the team since 2021.
