Dixon Scores as Jamaica Defeat India in Friendly at The Valley

Kaheim Dixon found the net as Jamaica secured a 2-0 victory against India in the Unity Cup at The Valley on Wednesday evening.

Dixon’s Decisive Goal

Kaheim Dixon was a bright spark throughout the match, playing the full 90 minutes as Jamaica booked their place in Saturday’s Grand Final. Courtney Clarke’s fifth-minute strike set the tone, with Dixon adding the second goal 11 minutes from time.

Dixon had an early effort saved by the Indian keeper. He was later denied again from a similar position later in the first half. Dixon came close again when he fired wide on the hour mark.

In the 79th minute, Dixon finally got his goal. He showed good feet to get into the box, before finding the bottom left-hand corner with a confident finish.

What’s Next for Jamaica and India

Jamaica are set to face Nigeria in the Grand Final on Saturday at 7.30pm in SE7.

India will take on Zimbabwe in the third-place play-off at The Valley prior to the Grand Final at 2.30pm. Zimbabwe were defeated 2-0 by Nigeria on Tuesday evening.
